Quebecer Samuel Blais signed a new one-year contract with the New York Rangers on Friday, avoiding becoming a restricted free agent.
The organization concerned did not specify the value of the agreement, but the daily “New York Post” had advanced the day before a sum of $ 1.525 million. In 2021-2022, the former St. Louis Blues received a salary of 1.5 million in the second year of his previous pact.
Blais played only 14 games last regular season because he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Having registered four assists, he was traded to the Rangers last summer through a trade involving Pavel Buchnevich.
