Jakarta, Gizmologia – Samsung has rolled out the Maintenance Mode feature worldwide for use on select Samsung Galaxy devices. This feature is used to protect the information of loyal Samsung users and should reduce the user’s anxiety when handing their device to someone else for repair.
The maintenance mode feature allows users to block access to personal information such as photos, messages, and their contact list. The presence of this feature is also a form of Samsung’s commitment to continue to make its users feel safe and in control of the devices they use.
“Our whole life is on our phones, from credit card information to family photos. With
Maintenance mode, we provide an additional warranty that Galaxy users can keep
their privacy, even if they pass the phone to someone else,” he said Seungwon Shin,
Vice President and Security Team Lead Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics.
Maintenance Mode was successfully tested on the Galaxy S21 series in Korea in July, then launched in China in September 2022. This feature will be rolled out gradually globally over the next few months on select models running One user interface 5. The rollout will continue throughout 2023, as availability expands to more Galaxy devices.

Put personal devices in maintenance mode
The maintenance mode is easily activated directly by the user. All the user has to do is select maintenance mode in the “Battery and device care” menu in “Settings” and reboot smartphones they. Immediately after the reboot process, all of their personal information including photos, documents and messages will not be able to be used.
After activating the mode, even the person in charge of managing the device will not be able to recover the applications that areinstall user. Data or accounts generated while using this mode will be automatically deleted as soon as the owner exits the mode. Other people can download apps on the Galaxy Store, but those apps will be automatically deleted along with any created data or accounts as soon as the owner exits maintenance mode.
The Samsung Galaxy devices themselves used the Knox application, Samsung’s military-grade security platform. The application offers multiple layers of protection. With the addition of the latter mode, it is hoped that it will further strengthen users’ trust in Samsung’s technology products.
