Samsung is expected to formalize the new Galaxy Z Flip5 folding smartphone this summer. Rumors are rife about it and new concept renders have just been released showing the mobile with a very large external screen. Could this be the model that will be presented by Samsung in a few months? Some think so…
The successors to the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 will be presented, in all likelihood, during this summer. Thus, the Galaxy Z Fold5 is expected to be much thinner and with a hinge that allows the two flaps of the device to stick together when it is completely closed. This is also envisaged for the Galaxy Z Flip5, in particular thanks to the use of a teardrop fold which would hurt the screen less, but which would also allow a coming together of two parties which fold into each other. The principle of a new mobile that does not accumulate dust on its internal screen when closed seems acquired. The other big unknown is the size of its external screen.
Indeed, remember that the first Galaxy Z Flip had a 1-inch screen which grew to 1.9 inches for the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Flip4, but that didn’t change much in the end, as interactions were relatively limited. For the Galaxy Z Flip5, it is rumored that Samsung could offer a larger external screen than those of the Motorola Razr 2022 and Oppo Find N2 Flip which are displayed, respectively, with diagonals of 2.7 inches and 3.26 inches.
A concept very close to reality?
Indeed, @Technizoconcept, in collaboration with the YouTuber SuperRoader, has just published images of what could be the design of the next Galaxy Z Flip5. This displays very flat profiles and a very wide screen on the outside.
Earlier, another person who seems very well informed, IceUniverse confirmed the presence of a squarer display surface than the previous one and which would have a diagonal of 3.14 inches. This larger screen would make it easier to consult notifications, activate or deactivate certain features, use widgets, etc. The concept images of the Galaxy Z Flip5 offered by @Technizoconcept show a screen that takes up almost the entire width of the device with a slight dropout under the two photo sensors. In this regard, we expect a new lens even if it has the same number of pixels as the previous one.
It is whispered that the Galaxy Z Flip5 would benefit from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The capacity of its battery will also be an important data to try to see if the mobile will offer better autonomy than its predecessor which was already better than the previous one.
