AYOINDONESIA.COM — Samsung’s next flagship phone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is rumored to come with three cameras. Unlike its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has four rear cameras.
According to tipster Ice Universe, the missing camera is reportedly a 3x telephoto camera. However, Samsung may have a new solution in mind.
The company could use a continuous periscopic zoom lens that can zoom from 3x to 10x, similar to the telephoto camera module that LG showed off last year.
This hardware will allow the single telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra to perform the duties of both zoom cameras on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Also, the new camera is able to offer better image quality with a mid-zoom range which was not possible with the previous camera setup.
Another possibility is that Samsung is confident in its 200MP main camera, which could enable 3x digital zoom, equivalent to the 3x optical zoom on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

This would eliminate the need for a separate telephoto camera altogether.
The removal of the single camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra could offer a cleaner design on the back of the phone and reduce complexity.
However, readers should take this information with some trepidation as plans can always change before the phone’s official release.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is currently Samsung’s best camera phone, with four rear cameras capable of recording 4K 60fps video.
The two cameras are telephoto cameras, offering an unmatched zoom range compared to competing phones.
