IDXChannel – Samsung announced that the sale folding phone series Galaxy Z in 2021 increased more than four times compared to the previous year.
The company explained that this is a combined sale of the Galaxy Z series, including the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 which were released last August.
However, the South Korean technology giant did not reveal detailed calculations regarding the total sales of the Galaxy Z series.
Previously, industry analysts predicted that sales of the Galaxy Z series would reach around 8 million units in 2021.
The types that are most in demand by consumers are the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. About one month after their release last August, the combined sales of the two models have exceeded the total cumulative sales of Samsung’s 2020 folding devices which amounted to about 2 million units.
Samsung said many consumers are switching from smartphones to the Galaxy Z series. The company explained that the number of users who switched smartphones to the Galaxy Flip 3 increased by 1.5 times compared to the Galaxy Note 20 and 1.4 times compared to the Galaxy S21. (TIA)
