Samsung’s Flip Phone Reportedly Already Has Thailand’s NBTC Certificate

Samsung is said to be one step ahead of the release of its newest foldable phone.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Samsung is said to have won certification from Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications (NBTC) for its unreleased phones, namely the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Fold4. It shows that Samsung is one step ahead towards the release of the latest foldable phone.

Collect GSM Arena, Friday (15/7/2022), previously Samsung had also pocketed a similar certification from the US FCC. The Galaxy Z Fold4 certified by the NBTC has the model code SM-F936B/DS, while the Galaxy Z Flip4 has SM-F721B.

The Thai certification authority did not reveal the specifications of either of these smartphones, but rumors claim that the Flip4 will come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 8GB RAM, and two storage options namely 128GB and 256GB. The Galaxy Flip4 is rumored to have a 6.7″ FullHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with a punch hole in the center for the 10MP selfie unit.

Meanwhile, the AMOLED screen on the outside comes with a larger size than the Flip3. The screen will be combined with a 12MP main camera. The Galaxy Z Flip4 is expected to pack a 3,700mAh battery with support for 25W wired and 10W wireless charging.

Like its predecessor, the Flip4 will also get a Bespoke Edition which will have more color combinations. The Galaxy Z Fold4, on the other hand, is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 12GB RAM, and up to 1TB of storage.

It is said to be lighter than its predecessor despite having the same battery capacity (4,400 mAh), with the folding screen and cover measuring 7.6 inches and 6.2 inches diagonally, respectively. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 are rumored to be officially launched on August 10, but there has been no news from Samsung about this smartphone.
