“Samsung’s Exclusive Overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor May Soon Be Available to Other Manufacturers”

When Samsung presented its models in the Galaxy S23 series, it turned out that they used a special processor in the form of an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm. Named “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy”, the processor has a faster primary core than the standard variant and tops out at 3.36GHz while the regular version tops out at 3.2GHz. This difference in clock speed means a slightly higher performance for the Galaxy variant. It also has an overclocked GPU – 719 MHz compared to the standard model’s 680 MHz.

Now, however, it seems that this processor, which has only been found in the Galaxy S23 models, may appear in other manufacturers as well. It is the leaker Digital Chat Station that comes out with the information that Samsung’s exclusivity for the processor is about to expire, which in that case would make it free for other manufacturers such as Asus, OnePlus and Xiaomi to start using it.
