JAKARTA – The cross-section of the current cell phone camera is large. But, many don’t care about this: protection on the phone’s camera glass. Except Samsung.
The latest Samsung Galaxy will use a Gorilla Glass coating on the camera lens. As a result, it is more resilient to scratches. Also makes it easier to capture clearer images.

There are two coatings for Samsung Galaxy phones. Namely Corning Gorilla Glass DX and DX Plus are claimed to promise protection against scratches, but can still capture up to 98 percent of incoming light.
Gorilla Glass itself is known as the best company for screen protection and has been around for more than 10 years. However, Corning’s technology to protect the camera lens of this phone is relatively new.
Because it is located on the back and its size itself is often very large, the camera lens of a cellphone is very susceptible to scratches, or even cracks.
It’s easy to strengthen the glass in the phone’s camera lens. However, it is not easy to make strong glass while still keeping the glass clear and clear. Well, this is the new technology used by Corning. They can make a strong protective glass, but also maximize the amount of light entering while minimizing reflections.
However, Samsung has not mentioned which Gorilla Glass DX technology will be used in this phone.
Jaymin Amin, VP and GM of Corning Gorilla Glass said that anti-reflective coatings have long been used on conventional cameras to improve light capture.
“However, these coatings tend to scratch easily, negatively impacting image quality. Corning’s Gorilla Glass composite not only provides mobile device camera lens covers with enhanced scratch resistance and durability compared to traditional coatings, but also the required optical performance enhancements.”

Amin said that he had designed the ideal solution for camera lens caps. “By capturing 98% of the light for the camera lens, our glass composites enhance the full capabilities of camera design and help create high-quality images and videos,” he says.
