Samsung has introduced a portable projector called The Freestyle. According to the manufacturer, The Freestyle serves not only as a projector, but also as a smart speaker and mood lighting. The device is available in the Netherlands from February 14 and costs $ 899 in the US.

The Freestyle weighs 830 grams and has dimensions of 18.5×9.4×13.5cm, excluding standard. The projector can rotate at an angle of 180 degrees. The device projects images on any surface up to 100 inches, with a resolution of up to 1920×1080 pixels. The speaker sound is broadcast in 360 degrees.

The projector includes automatic ‘keystone and leveling functions’, which according to Samsung This means that the proportionality of the screen automatically adjusts to the surface on which the image is projected. According to the manufacturer, the colors are also automatically adjusted to better match the color of the surface.

The projector works with external batterypacks, so that it is easier to take the device with you. The device can also still be charged with a USB-C connection. The battery and charging times are unknown.

Furthermore, The Freestyle includes a microphone for remote voice control, allowing communication with smart assistants such as Bixby. The projector can also provide mood lighting of up to 550 lumens using a supplied lens cap. This is only possible when The Freestyle does not project any content.
