Samsung introduces a new version of its Galaxy Tab. The Tab A8 has a slightly larger 10.5″ screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, but the screen resolution is slightly lower than the predecessor. The Android tablet costs 229 euros.
From Galaxy Tab A8 has a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. That’s slightly less than the Tab A7, which features a 10.4″ display with a 15:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2000×1200 pixels.
According to Samsung, the Tab A8 has a processor that is ten percent faster than the predecessor, but the manufacturer does not specify which chip is in the tablet. The previous model still had a Snapdragon 662, but the current processor is only known to be an octacore that has a speed of 2GHz. It is known that the tablet comes as a 3GB ram option with 32GB storage, or as a 4GB model with 64GB or 128GB of storage. There is also a microSD slot to expand the storage.
The A8 has a 5-megapixel front camera and a single camera with an 8-megapixel sensor on the back. The tablet has a 7040mAh battery that can quickly charge with 15W. There is also a 3.5mm jack on the device, in addition to the USB-C port.
The tablet is available with WiFi or LTE and has a suggested retail price that starts at 229 euros. The tablet runs on Android 11 and will be released in the Netherlands at the end of December.
