Jakarta (ANTARA) – Samsung Electronics Co. is expected to dominate the foldable phone market this year, amounting to 88 percent.
Launching Yonhap on Friday, Counterpoint Research said that the global foldable smartphone market is predicted to triple from the previous year, reaching 9 million units in 2021 and 88 percent of them are Samsung.

“We estimate delivery smartphone Samsung’s foldable by 2021 will grow significantly, driven by design improvements and hardware, and competitive prices,” said a Counterpoint Research representative.
Counterpoint Research also forecasts the market smartphone worldwide in 2023 to be 10 times greater than in 2020.
In fact, if more manufacturers enter the market, including Apple, Samsung is expected to still maintain its main player status with 75 percent market share.

Regarding the US market, Counterpoint Research said smartphone Samsung’s foldable should be launched at a lower price to attract consumers.
