Samsung announced today, Sunday, that it will introduce new and innovative devices in San Francisco on February 11 at the Unpacked event, with the expectation that the electronics giant will unveil its new foldable phone along with a new flagship of the S model.

The move comes as the world’s largest smartphone company seeks to maintain its leadership in the 5G and 5G foldable phone markets, as competitors plan to catch up in emerging and growing sectors.

New hardware unveiled

The South Korean company said in the invitation letter that Samsung Electronics will unveil new and innovative devices that will form the next decade of mobile phone experiences, explaining that the event will be broadcast live.

In a teaser, Samsung alluded to two phones, one similar to the square and the other to a rectangular shape. In October, the company unveiled its new concept of a foldable phone that folds vertically like old phones.

Samsung launched its first foldable phone called the Galaxy Fold, which is folded horizontally, in September after five months of delay caused by screen problems.

3 Galaxy S11 phones

The company is expected to announce three Galaxy S11 phones instead of four, all of which support 5G networks, and while the new phones are supposed to be called the S11, rumors have made clear the possibility of using the Galaxy S20 label.

The next generation of its Galaxy Fold 2 foldable phone may also appear in the Unpacked event, and in case the company manages to solve the problems that led to the first Galaxy Fold pause, the new model may be able to reach the hands of users on time.

It is reported that the South Korean company used to unveil new versions of the leading Galaxy S phones before the Mobile World Congress MWC held in February.
