Samsung Unveils AI-Enabled Refrigerator and Cooktop at CES 2024

The electronics fair CES 2024 is underway and Samsung has started releasing some news. Their new fridge has been equipped with AI that keeps track of what’s in it.

Samsung Electronics will participate in the big one electronics fair CES 2024 in Las Vegas next month and is expected to show some of next year’s news there. One of these is their refrigerator 2024 Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ which features AI Vision Inside. Of course, there is a connection to the smart home and SmartThings, which opens up new possibilities. Thanks to the built-in AI function that keeps track of what is in the fridge via a built-in camera, the user can be given suggestions for recipes to prepare. Up to 33 different types of fresh produce can be identified via “Vision AI”, this by having been trained on approximately 1 million photographs of the fresh produce.

User can manually add expiration date for the food to gain more control and reduce food waste. When something is about to expire, a warning about this is displayed on the refrigerator’s built-in 32″ screen.

Another novelty is the “Anyplace Induction Cooktop” which shows users recipes selected via the Family Hub on a 7″ screen, this to help prepare the meal. The screen is thus built into the hob, which is a novelty in itself. The AI functions in the new products should also be able to suggest recipes if you follow a special diet. If pictures are taken of the contents of the fridge, this can be converted into recipes, which makes cooking at home easier.
