Top Gear, XITE, Dateline 24/7 and Studio 100 now also available in the Netherlands
The free streaming service Samsung TV Plus is expanding its FAST[1]channel package with four new channels: Samsung TV Plus is now available on Samsung Smart TVs from 2018 and offers more than 100 channels with international and national content such as news, entertainment, films, documentaries, sports and music.
Top Gear
BBC Studios, producer of the global phenomenon Top Gear, has been working with Samsung TV Plus in Europe for almost three years and the Top Gear channel has already been a great success in Spain. Seasons 14 to 22 have been available in the Netherlands and Belgium since October 25. The Top Gear channel has 100% Dutch subtitles.
“We are proud to be the exclusive FAST provider of Top Gear in the Benelux,” says Tonnie van Schijndel, Head of Marketing TV and Audio at Samsung Electronics Benelux. “Top Gear is an iconic series and it’s fantastic that old and new episodes can now be viewed for free to an even wider European audience.”
Music Platform XITE
Music video platform XITE has also already made a name for itself in Europe with Samsung TV Plus and now presents two new channels in the Netherlands: XITE Ultimate Throwback and XITE Kerst. XITE Ultimate Throwback is the channel for nostalgic music lovers and XITE Christmas brings the holidays straight to the living room with the biggest Christmas hits. In January, XITE Christmas will become XITE R&B Classic Jams, a channel with the greatest R&B classics of recent decades. The new channels have been available on Samsung TV Plus in the Netherlands since October 25.
Dateline 24/7
Discover the true crime stories from Dateline NBC, the channel that introduced true crime to the world. From now on, Samsung TV Plus viewers can enjoy a treasure trove of episodes from the extensive Dateline archive 24/7.
“True crime is very popular in the Netherlands,” says Tonnie van Schijndel. “This is already evident from the success of the many true crime podcasts. From now on, Dutch viewers of Samsung TV Plus can watch the rich archive of the original true crime channel 24/7.”
Studio 100
The Belgian Studio 100 is known for successful children’s programs such as Samson & Gert and Kabouter Plop. Samsung TV Plus now offers three new channels from Studio 100: Studio 100 TV, Studio 100 Hits and the culinary channel njam!, which answers the question ‘what are we eating today’. Studio 100 has been available in the Netherlands via Samsung TV Plus since October 25.
“With Studio 100 we can give children and adults in the Netherlands even more free viewing pleasure,” says Tonnie van Schijndel. “In addition to high-quality programming, we only offer verified and safe commercials, so that children and adults can enjoy these channels without any worries.”
