SEOUL – Four years after its launch, Samsung Galaxy S8 will finally receive its final security update.
Until now, the flagship phones of that era were updated twice a year.
However, the Galaxy S8 Active will still have quarterly security updates, while the Galaxy S8 Lite gets bi-annual updates.

The last security update the Galaxy S8 received was in April 2021.
Galaxy S8 has been the success story of Samsung which was launched last spring 2017. With its unique wide edge-to-edge display and bezel design, the Galaxy S8 device has successfully hit the market with a distinct look.
Samsung recently introduced a policy of providing Galaxy devices with security updates for four years, including S series flagships and even A series models.
Premium devices tend to get monthly updates, at least for the first few years. And it will slow down to a quarterly or biennial renewal towards the end of its life.
