Samsung Releases The Freestyle 2.0 Portable Projector, Can Watch Anywhere – Kompas.com

KOMPAS.com – Samsung Electronics Indonesia officially launched The Freestyle 2.0 portable projector on the Indonesian market.

The successor to The Freestyle projector, which arrived in Indonesia in March 2022, brings a number of superior features such as a projection screen of up to 100 inches, Dynamic Color display, 360 degree audio and Wi-Fi connection for viewing anywhere.

When compared to its predecessor, The Freestyle 2.0 presents an interface (UI) that is 22 percent faster and application launch speed is 59 percent better.

The projector lamp that displays the image lasts 30,000 hours or 50 percent longer, while the quality of the speakers doubles.

“All the features needed are in one portable device, which can be projected onto various surfaces and is of course easy to carry,” said Head of Product AV Business Samsung Electronics Indonesia Ubay Bayanudin in a written statement (25/11/2023).

The Freestyle 2.0 has a portable form factor with a 100 inch screen projection area that can be projected in all directions up to 180 degrees. Users can watch anywhere, whether in a home cinema or while camping.

This portable projector is capable of displaying images with Full HD resolution (1,080 x 1,920 pixels) with HDR10 support.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) is a technology that can produce images with good contrast between light and dark areas. That way, the image on the screen will appear more realistic, thereby improving the user’s viewing experience.

This Samsung projector is also equipped with a “Smart Calibration” feature which will calibrate the image quality automatically, when the user displays an image on a wall that is not white. Image quality is claimed to remain good.

The Freestyle 2.0 has an “Auto Keystone” feature to create an auto focus display, which ensures the image remains sharp and clear when viewed from various angles. This feature also performs auto leveling to adjust the image projection onto an uneven surface.

Adjusting this screen is claimed to be simple thanks to the “Instant Setup” feature. Settings can also be done by connecting a smartphone to the projector via the SmartThings application, which can be used as a remote.

SmartThings is software made by Samsung, which allows users to control compatible electronic equipment directly from a smartphone or tablet.

Bixby voice command mode can also be activated via the available Samsung SolarCell remote. The voice assistant can be commanded to run applications, adjust the volume, play music, and so on.

Another feature, The Freestyle 2.0 presents “Premium 360 Sound” which is claimed to produce premium quality audio in all directions, as well as the option to specialize left and right stereo sound output to each device to create a more vivid experience.

This new projector also supports Game Mode with optimized image quality and low latency, Wi-Fi connection to open streaming services, YouTube or internet browsing, as well as the “Tap View” feature to display videos from smartphones.

To do this, the user must turn on The Freestyle 2.0 and the SmartThings application on the smartphone, open the content being watched, then attach the smartphone to the body of the projector.
