After several online reports reporting problems with the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s screen, Samsung has publicly stated that a future update will resolve all issues.
However, while this solution is not enough, the South Korean company advises users to opt for less demanding settings for the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s screen.
Samsung recommends less demanding settings to solve screen problem
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has already reached some users and apparently right away they found that the terminal had a problem on its screen. According to several reports published on social media, the screen of Samsung’s new top of the range has a strip of pink pixels, which suggests a serious anomaly on the screen.
On its Twitter account, Samsung itself confirms the existence of this flaw. And on the social network Reddit, the company goes a little further on the origin of this problem: “we are aware that some Galaxy S22 Ultra units show a line of pixels on the screen when the user is on YouTube or unlocks the smartphone with the sensor fingerprint”, clarifies the brand, implying that the bug is confined to the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Samsung continues its clarifications, stating that “the problem arises when the user selects the screen setting for WQHD and Natural mode”, which contradicts several reports from complaining users.
Faced with such a situation, Samsung has publicly stated that a future update will resolve this bug. But while the update doesn’t arrive, Samsung advises users to set the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s screen resolution to Full HD+ and opt for Vivid mode. In other words, users should select less demanding options for the display of the new high-end.
To downsize the settings, users must navigate to the Settings menu, select Display > Display Mode. And to change the definition, the user, in the screen option, must click on Screen definition and select the FHD+ option.
Samsung uses materials from the Galaxy S21 in the Galaxy S22 Ultra
Shortly after the complainant users’ reports, the news emerged that Samsung will have used materials from the Galaxy S21 to manufacture the OLED screens of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. This information comes through the South Korean website The Elec.
According to the same source, this may be an attempt by Samsung to control the price increase, as well as to increase the number of units produced of the S22, in relation to the units manufactured of the S21 and S20.
