Samsung has unveiled the successor to the Odyssey G9 screen, which is a 49-inch screen that has taken technology from Samsung’s TVs.
The screen is named Odyssey Neo G9 and can display a resolution of 5120×1440 in an ultrawide format that has a ratio of 32: 9. It uses Samsung’s Quantum Mini LED, which allows it to display 2048 so-called “dimming zones”, which can be compared to the 10 such zones that the Odyssey G9 can display.
The Odyssey Neo G9 has a refresh rate of 240hz with a response time of 1 ms. The brightness is 2000 nits which can be compared to other screens which usually have around 420 nits. When it comes to connectors, there is a Display Port 1.4, an HDMI 2.1, two USB inputs and a headphone input.
Samsung will start accepting orders for the Odyssey Neo G9 on July 29 and it will be released globally on August 9. Should you be hungry, the screen costs 2500 dollars.
