Jakarta, Selular.ID – So far Samsung has patented many designs for mobile devices. Most recently, LetsGoDigital has found an interesting patent that shows that the company can bring in the Galaxy Tab Fold in the future.
The patent has been applied for at the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) and was granted on February 16, 2021. Under the ‘Display Device’ category, the patent description suggests that Samsung is working on a Galaxy Tab with a flexible display.
The folding screen has become Samsung’s hot power lately. However, the South Korean giants have come a long way and even faced several unsuccessful attempts in the process. Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold2 is a handy foldable device with a 7.6-inch external screen, and the company is already working on a replacement.
Gizmochina reports that currently, Samsung has a tablet in the Galaxy Tab S, A lineup, and given that foldable screens are expensive, it might have to debut under the Tab S series if Samsung launches a Foldable Tablet.
Talking about the patent design, it has minimal bezels except for the middle, no screen cover and it looks like it has a folding mechanism. The sensor, LED flash and selfie shooter are placed at the top center. the screen has a kind of notch at the top and bottom.

On the back, the device does not appear to have a camera as the report suggests. Changing it to portrait mode, there is a speaker and a Type-C port for charging on the left. On the opposite side, there is the power button and another speaker.
As usual, this may just end up as a patented design and never make it to the market as a commercial product.
