TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Samsung rumored to be developing a phone with a new design that allows one screen that can be folded into three. Now, a patent has emerged that complements the news of the development of this unique and futuristic device.
The Korean tech giant has submitted patent to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), with documents detailing its new foldable phone, called the Galaxy Tri-Fold. The patent describes that the phone can fold into three parts and will look like the letter Z.
All documents only show cell phone it has three separate screens that can be opened into one large and seamless screen. In addition, this smartphone also features two hinges, with one folding in while the other folds out to form the letter Z.
A related patent also previously appeared in 2020, and the latest one completes information on how Samsung will develop the phone. The Galaxy Tri-Fold will reportedly come with S Pen support, an under-display camera, an HDMI connector, and more.
To date, the Korean brand is the market leader in the foldable smartphone segment, so it’s no surprise that Samsung wants to expand its presence to maintain its dominance in that market. However, it is still unknown whether Samsung actually developed such a device.
