Last Thursday (14), it was possible to catch a glimpse of some of Samsung’s new ideas in the foldable market. In fact, according to the patent published by WIPO, the World Intellectual Property Organization, the South Korean company shows a technology to make scrollable smartphones and with transparent screens.
The sketches show two device designs, both are equipped with a transparent scrollable screen. The difference is that one of them brings the scrollable panel coming out of the side, while another one scrolls vertically.

With the transparent screen, it would be possible to use augmented reality features, for example. Still, what we see at WIPO doesn’t bring so many details, but it serves for the company to already guarantee some ideas, even if it ends up not using the idea in the end.

It is worth remembering that Samsung moved away from the development of transparent OLED panels in 2016 due to low demand, but things have changed in recent years with the return of technology.
Recent rumors suggest developing a third folding device to reach the side of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 e Z Flip 4 at Unpacked 2022 in August, but it’s still hard to say it will come with scrollable technology.
