The new OLED models deliver the performance and clarity gamers look for in their monitors and include the Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD), Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD) and Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD).
Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49-inch curved ultra-wide gaming monitor with DQHD (5120×1440) resolution, 32:9 aspect ratio and other advanced features. Odyssey OLED G8 – Samsung’s first flat 32-inch OLED gaming monitor with 4K UHD resolution (3,840×2160) and 16:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors have a 240Hz refresh rate and a GTG response time of 0.03ms. Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) monitor that supports a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GTG response time.
More than 212 million gamers across the country want high-quality hardware to enhance their gaming experience,” said David Phelps, head of Samsung Electronics America’s display business. “The Odyssey G9, OLED G8 and OLED G6 displays deliver exceptional picture quality to suit every scene, as well as fast refresh rates and response times that give them a competitive edge. With glare-free OLED technology that reduces reflections, gamers have more options when it comes to placing their devices.
Screen technologies that provide fine detailing of nuances
All three new models feature glare-free OLED technology, which minimizes light reflections for an enhanced viewing experience without additional hardware, so users can play games with consistent brightness and color reproduction in virtually any lighting environment.
With VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, the monitors deliver incredible detail and vibrant colors no matter what game or content you’re displaying. What’s more, they support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for ultra-fast, low-latency HDR gaming.
The three new monitors provide comprehensive physical connectivity with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub, and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. Users will also appreciate the comfort of VESA mounting and a height-adjustable stand (HAS), which includes tilt, swivel and swivel control points on select models.
Connected capabilities across a complete ecosystem
Odyssey G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 OLED displays now offer Multi Control, a new feature that provides seamless device connectivity for easier interaction with multiple devices. Multi Control allows users to seamlessly transfer images and/or text between a compatible Samsung monitor and other Samsung devices, including Galaxy Book, tablet or phone, for a smoother and more efficient mouse and keyboard experience.
Additionally, the OLED G9 Odyssey and OLED G8 Odyssey include Samsung SmartThings Hub. With a built-in hub, users can connect to a variety of IoT devices compatible with Matter and Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA), for device management.
When switching from work to play, the Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 monitors are multifunctional entertainment centers. Equipped with the Samsung Smart TV platform and Samsung Gaming Hub, they provide access to streaming and cloud gaming services.
Elegant design to illuminate any space
Samsung debuted its Odyssey lineup with a flat OLED screen and 16:9 aspect ratio in the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6. The new Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6 models combine the unique thin metal design of the Odyssey OLED line with new Core Lighting+ that fits into a thin bezel.
Core Lighting+ allows users to immerse themselves in their games and entertainment by emitting ambient light from the back of the monitor. Thanks to the fact that the lighting circle is four times thinner than the previous model (G95SC), it fits seamlessly into a thin metal frame with a diameter of 3.9 mm. Also introduced is a new slim metal stand with a tool-free design using a 3mm thick metal plate that blends with the display design and opens up space for other devices.
With the introduction of these new models, Samsung has further strengthened its OLED display lineup and positioned itself as a leader in the gaming monitor market. Together, Odyssey OLED innovations and continued enhancements to the Odyssey Neo series, which launched the world’s first dual-resolution UHD gaming monitor last year with the 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9, deliver features and performance that will help define the future of gaming.
