Gone is the 7.6-inch foldable screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung now wants to move up a gear by offering foldable tablets. In any case, this is what Lets Go Digital emphasizes after discovering a new patent for the brand.
In February 2019, Samsung presented a first foldable smartphone called the Galaxy Fold. The following year, the South Korean firm returned to the charge with a more elaborate model: the Z Fold 2. Now, Samsung wants to see bigger by attacking the tablet market.
Samsung now wants to make its tablets foldable
After getting their hands on a Samsung patent, Lets Go Digital unearthed the patent obtained by the mark on February 16, 2021. Now available on the site of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the documentation presents a foldable Galaxy tablet.
Thanks to these first visuals, we first discover that the tablet only benefits from a single panel. Indeed, Samsung does not seem to have decided to add an external screen like these foldable smartphones Fold and Z Flip. In addition, the rear and front photo sensors are not in the game. However, it is very likely that the manufacturer will introduce selfie lenses under the screen or on one of the notches of the foldable tablet.
Finally, we can notice at the end of the left hinge an on / off button as well as a speaker. For the right side, a second speaker would be present with a USB-C socket at its side.
