Samsung has had great success with its foldable smartphones in just three years. Of course, it’s the range Galaxy Z Flip which has a more affordable price which is bringing in more sales. However, whichever model is sold the most, it is worth noting the hype that the Korean giant managed to create around these devices. Now Samsung’s foldables are going to get even better because a big drama is over. Confused? We’ve explained everything.
Samsung: no more drama with the foldables!
This year, Samsung will release the fourth iteration of the Galaxy Fold and the third iteration of the Galaxy Z Flip, respectively. Great news is that in all versions, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips will bring them to life. That is, the drama of Exynos vs Snapdragon is over.
Samsung has exclusively used Snapdragon chips in all of its foldables in recent years, and there’s no indication that any changes will occur. It is true that until very recently it was thought that Samsung would go another way. This is due to a partnership between the Korean giant and AMD which led everyone to think that the Exynos 2200 it would be a bomb. However, that didn’t go very well.
But be careful because the range Galaxy S22, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, hasn’t been perfect either. However, there is no competition between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 variants as far as issues that customers have already faced. Flickering screens, audio-video sync issues, poorer performance. The situations in Exynos have been many.
That said, if the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 both run on Snapdragon chips in all markets, it will be a big win for the company’s upcoming foldables. In fact, the new foldables may even have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip, developed with TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process. TSMC’s 4nm process is more efficient than Samsung’s and has higher yields, according to many sources.
