Samsung makes app mirroring to Windows easier with One UI 6.1.1!

This is a testament to Samsung’s commitment to delivering ever deeper integration between its devices and the Windows ecosystem.

A simplified authorization process

It should be noted that until now, Users wishing to stream an app from their Samsung smartphone to their Windows computer had to agree to each mirroring attempt. Although necessary, this step could quickly become tedious with repetition…

On One UI 6.1.1, Samsung decided to address this issue by integrating the authorization services directly into the dedicated Android implementation. In concrete terms, this just means that the authorization page will only appear once, during the first attempt to mirror an app.

A more flexible authorization choice

During this first request for authorization, Users will be offered three options: allow mirroring “always“, “only this time“, or “do not allow. By choosing “always allow“, the repetitive authorization requests will disappear; provided of course that the smartphone is turned on and unlocked.

It must be admitted thatSuch an approach offers greater flexibility to users, who can choose the level of authorization that suits them best.. And this, while considerably simplifying the process for those who frequently use the mirroring functionality.

A temporary exclusivity for foldables

For now, Only Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones, namely the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, benefit from this improvement, as they are the only ones to be equipped with the One UI 6.1.1 version.Other devices in the Galaxy range will have to wait a little longer before benefiting from this advancement.

Ever closer integration with Windows

Obviously This improvement of the Link to Windows functionality is part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to offer ever deeper integration between its devices and the Windows ecosystem. It should be remembered that Microsoft had also already made significant changes to the Phone Link app (formerly “Your Phone“) in order to offer a more intuitive and refined experience to users.

Samsung has also confirmed the arrival of new AI-powered photo features, such as Portrait Studio and Sketch to Image.

That being said, know that The extent of the changes brought by One UI 6.1.1 could well delay the arrival of the next major version, One UI 7 (based on Android 15)both in beta and stable. In the meantime, users of the latest Samsung foldables can already enjoy a simplified and more user-friendly application mirroring experience thanks to One UI 6.1.1. A notable advancement that shows very well Samsung’s commitment to providing ever deeper and more intuitive integration between its devices and the Windows ecosystemfor the benefit of all users!
