Samsung Made Roll-and-Swipe Screen Phones, Launch This Year

Samsung reportedly developing a cell phone scroll screen and be shifted. That screen will likely be used for future Samsung phones.

The roll-up display design is similar to the screen made by LG. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021. LG leaked a rolled-up smartphone.

Launch Gizmo China, Samsung Display division senior vice president, Choi Kwon-young said the first roll and slide screen production Samsung Display will be released later this year. He hopes Samsung will be the first to use the roll screen technology.

There has been no official statement from Samsung’s mobile division regarding this. However, roll screen technology is found in Samsung Display’s 2020 financial reports and revenue prospects.

Reports from Samsung Display about foldable and sliding screens could imply that Samsung will adopt new technology in its newest phones, in addition to essential features such as refresh rates and low power to maintain its leadership in the increasingly stringent regular OLED market.

Launch Tech Radar, scroll and swipe screens may be used by other devices. Because the screen information was delivered by Samsung Display.

However, Samsung will introduce a smartphone that can be rolled up and maybe even one that can be shifted away soon considering that the product is still in innovation.

Samsung is by no means the only smartphone maker working on rollable handsets. LG Rollable is known to have developed similar technology though it is unclear exactly when the handset will come out and be available for consumers to purchase.

Apart from that, TLC is also known to introduce a cellphone with a rollable screen. TLC claims it will sell phones with roll-up displays in 2021.
