Samsung Electronics has launched the new Galaxy XCover 7 smartphone and Galaxy Tab Active5 tablet – devices suitable for overcoming ruthless challenges. With military-grade durability and 5G connectivity, the Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 devices are ideally suited to perform powerfully and confidently even in the most challenging environments.
Both new devices will provide increased mobility thanks to 5G connectivity, improved mobile processor performance and larger device memory. The XCover 7 is equipped with a new and powerful rear camera, an enlarged screen and increased resolution. The Tab Active5, on the other hand, comes with replaceable batteries as well as No Battery Mode and fast charging functions, which will prevent the device from discharging.
Military standard durability and safety
As devices built to withstand the harsh working conditions of construction sites, the Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 allow users to use them without worry. Both smartphones are manufactured to meet the military standard MIL-STD-810H, which means, for example, that the Galaxy XCover 7 is shock-resistant against drops of up to 1.5 meters, while the Galaxy Tab Active5, with the included protective cover, can withstand drops from 1.8 meters high.
The Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection glasses, thus improving the durability and scratch resistance of the devices. It is also possible to adjust the touch sensitivity of the screens and use the devices even while working with gloves.
Something that Samsung’s ultra-rugged devices haven’t seen before is the Samsung Knox Vault feature, which has now also been introduced to the Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 arsenal. Knox Vault helps protect important data, including PINs, passwords and unlock patterns. Samsung Knox Vault provides a secure operating environment that is physically isolated from the system’s main processor and memory and operates from the moment a user registers their lock screen – even if the device is lost or stolen. Samsung Knox Vault is designed to protect user data not only against software hacks, but also against professional-grade hardware attacks.
Advantages when using in construction, logistics and other demanding industries
In an increasingly digital world, business workers must always be reachable online, so the Galaxy XCover 7 is enhanced for fast and reliable 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 5, while the Galaxy Tab Active5 offers 5G and Wi-Fi 6.
The screens of the Galaxy XCover 7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 also ensure easy and comfortable use. Compared to the previous generation of smartphones, the XCover 7’s 6.6-inch screen has a larger surface area and resolution. The Tab Active5’s 8-inch screen provides better visibility in outdoor conditions thanks to increased display brightness and a smooth viewing experience thanks to a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
On days when work at the factory or construction site takes longer, Galaxy XCover 7 and Tab Active5 users can easily use the fast charging function to save time on charging and improve productivity. Both devices are equipped with replaceable batteries that allow for reduced downtime on and off the job site.
With the No Battery Mode function, the Galaxy Tab Active can also be used without using the built-in battery. This allows you to use the device non-stop in a vehicle or at workstations, as well as save battery heat.
Samsung’s ultra-durable devices are designed to make the work process as productive and efficient as possible. So, for example, increased speaker volume prevents misunderstandings in the workplace due to eavesdropping, and fast barcode scanning using the Knox Capture function makes operations in the warehouse or at mini-payment terminals easier and more efficient.
