Samsung has launched a new smartphone for business customers. The Galaxy XCover Pro Enterprise Edition is a fall-proof business phone, as the manufacturer writes.
The smartphone from the Galaxy family offers a 6.3 inch TFT display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Samsung promises that the screen will work even in rain and snow. It also offers a glove mode for operation. The device can be activated as usual via the fingerprint scanner or face recognition.
The housing withstands a fall from up to 1.2 meters and offers protection against moisture, according to the “MIL-STD 810G” standard. In addition, the manufacturer promises that it is waterproof and dustproof (IP68 certification).
The 4050 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C or the “Pogo-Pins” contact plug. There is also the option of replacing the power source with a replacement battery.
The internal memory of 64 GB can be expanded using a microSD slot.
Safe from attacks
Enterprise customers should benefit from Samsung’s partner ecosystem for the mobile solutions. For example, the new walkie-talkie function from Microsoft Teams has already been integrated. The software solutions from Infinite Peripherals, Koamtac, Scandit and Visa are to serve employees from all industries, Samsung writes.
With its in-house Knox platform, Samsung wants to protect the smartphone from cyberattacks. Knox supports security functions such as data encryption as well as boot and runtime protection.
The Galaxy XCover Pro Enterprise Edition will be released in Switzerland at the end of January. The RRP is CHF 509.
