The reliable tasty Ice Universe claims that Samsung is working on a 600 megapixel sensor. He shares the slide below from an internal presentation on Twitter. This shows that Samsung mainly develops the camera for 4K and 8K video. The high resolution allows users to zoom in while filming with minimal loss of quality.

The camera should be a lot bigger than the 108 megapixel sensor currently in the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra in Note 20 Ultra sits. At 1 / 0.57 inch, it would even be larger than the sensor in many premium compact cameras.

For the time being, the Korean manufacturer will stick to the 108 megapixel sensor that debuted in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The successor of that device, the S21 Ultra, reportedly has one new version of this sensor. The cheaper models, the Galaxy S21 in S21 More, probably have to make do with ‘old-fashioned’ 12 megapixel cameras.
