Samsung is reportedly actively working on a laptop with a 17.3-inch foldable screen

Samsung produces OLED panels of all kinds for many manufacturers around the world and, according to information from research firm Omdia, the South Korean company would be ready to use one of its screen technologies itself. It could invest in an entirely new product segment next year: foldable screen laptops.

A 17.3-inch OLED screen

Samsung would in fact intend to produce a folding laptop with a diagonal of 17.3 inches in the near future. According to The Electof the 8.5 million OLED panels that Samsung Display would supply to laptops in 2023, some would end up at Asus, but not only.

This time around, most of the screens would go to Samsung MX, the division tasked with manufacturing the brand’s Galaxy laptops, to design this brand new model.

Builders work behind the scenes

This new laptop format would offer the user the option to enjoy an unfolded 17.3-inch screen, but also two 13.3-inch screens when folded. One of the great advantages of this type of design is that it offers new uses with a more hybrid and comfortable use, the lower half of the screen can, for example, leave room for a keyboard if necessary.

Obviously, such a device should come out at a fairly high price. Apple would also be in line to produce its own foldable MacBook, but its commercialization would not be expected for a while ‘.
