Soon it’s time for Samsung Galaxy Unpackedthe event that takes place on August 11, 2021, but now the company has given us a teaser trailer while we wait. It is well worth a look too, as it gives us a sneak peek at the upcoming one Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3-mobile.
The trailer shows a bunch of silhouettes of much older mobiles, and attentive viewers may recognize some iconic models from recent decades, including the lovable Nokia 3310. After the slogan “is ‘good’ good enough”, we get to see a glimpse of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 which is more of an Inception tribute than a revelation of the device – a nice effect that unfortunately hid the phone with an abundance of CGI buildings.
In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, we expect to see a lot of other new additions to the Samsung family that will be announced during the Galaxy Unpacked event. These include the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as well Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds 2, which has recently been rumored will be sold to one cheaper price than we originally expected.
Samsung’s range of foldable mobiles has so far been quite impressive. Galaxy Z Fold 2 became a profitable investment thanks to the wonderful screen, but was held back somewhat by the price and its cameras that were just like that.
However, a new leak has claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 can be released at a cheaper price than its own precursor, which would be an improvement if true.
Will folding become the new norm?
It is hard to imagine that foldable mobiles will become commonplace in the near future, especially given that they are usually more expensive than the average mobile and that there are still so few of them on the market.
With that said, Samsung’s efforts with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may push the foldable design in the direction of becoming more mainstream, as the company has clearly committed to making new foldable models on a seemingly annual basis. The company clearly believes that there is a consumer need to be met.
But do not really have high hopes yet. Foldable mobiles, by and large, are still far too expensive to be considered as anything other than a choice for the enthusiast, especially while more traditionally designed mobiles such as iPhone 12 and OnePlus 9 offers more for a small price, whether it’s an impressive camera set or sharp OLED screens.
