Samsung Introduces First 90Hz OLED Display for Laptops
Most laptops use panels with a 60 Hz refresh rate, but this will change during the year 2021, as Samsung plans to mass-produce 90 Hz OLED panels during this first quarter of the year.
The executive director of Samsung Display, Joo Sun Choi, assures that the company will initially produce large quantities of displays YOU ARE 14-inch with a refresh rate of 90 Hz that will be intended for notebooks and notebooks. The estimated date is for March.
“OLED panels are the best to meet the diverse needs of consumers for laptops used in telecommuting, online education, video streaming and gaming.”the company said.
Samsung wants to improve the experience for laptop users with OLED panels that offer refresh rates higher than the classic 60 Hz. This change is going to require superior hardware that can allow 90-frame play in all games. However, all users will be able to experience greater fluidity in movement, creating greater immersion.

OLED’s 90Hz refresh rate is 10 times faster than the response time of a traditional display current and can be compared to 120Hz LCDs.
In tests carried out by Samsung, they used a moving video of a car driving at high speed, finding that the image carry-over of 90 Hz OLED screens and LCD screens were 0.9 mm and 1 mm, respectively. In other words, the blurring of the 90Hz OLED panels is less than that of a 120Hz LCD. We will keep you posted.
