Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced that the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature will soon be available in 13 countries through the Samsung Health Monitor app. This feature, along with the already available blood pressure monitoring and Electrocardiogram (ECG) functions, aims to help Galaxy Watch users track abnormal heart rates and gain more comprehensive insights into their heart health.
The IHRN feature has been approved by the MFSD (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety – South Korea) and the FDA (the US food and drug regulatory agency). It will be introduced in 13 countries, including Argentina, Azerbaijan, Ecuador, Georgia, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama, the UAE, the United States, and South Korea.
The IHRN feature monitors irregular heartbeats in the background and alerts users of potential atrial fibrillation (AFib). Combined with the existing blood pressure and heart rate monitoring, users can gain deeper insights into their cardiovascular health.
Since its launch in 2020, the Samsung Health Monitor app has expanded its reach to 74 countries.
