Samsung has gone supersonic with the Android 13 update, but that’s not the best part

It has become quite redundant now to point out what an amazing job Samsung is doing update Galaxy devices to Android 13 e A 5.0 user interface. Samsung has released the Android 13 updated for Galaxy smartphones and tablets almost every day for the past couple of months.

By the end of this year, Samsung will probably have upgraded everything suitable devices to Android 13, as the company suggested in our exclusive interview to discover. Again, this is redundant, but it bears repeating that Samsung has accomplished a monumental task: As of this writing, around 50 Galaxy devices are running Android 13 and One UI 5.0!

One of the good things about the One UI 5.0 launch has been Samsung’s indifference to the price tags of the devices it has updated so far. But you know what’s even better? The fact that while it seems like Samsung is rushing to meet deadlines, these updates have been surprisingly bug-free.

Android 13 is one of the least buggy major updates from Samsung

While I was initially running Android 13 on Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S22 UltraI finally started using it on the two year old Galaxy S20 Ultra. Then I switched to a mid-range phone: the Galaxy A53 – to see how the non-flagship Galaxies fared on the new version of Android and One UI. And in all three cases I found no reason to complain.

Performance is improved on all of these devices (although Samsung may have tweaked the animations slightly to make your device run faster and/or smoother), and with the exception of an app crash or two on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, not I encountered virtually no problems. Yep, the Galaxy S20 Ultra, one of Samsung’s most messed-up flagship phones in recent years, is too it’s doing well with its third (and final) major OS update.

It should be noted that I am talking about initial Android 13/One UI 5.0 firmware for all three devices, which means that the updates released by Samsung have remained stable since day one. Again, your mileage may vary, but mine has been surprisingly great and problem free. The same goes for my colleague and friend Mihai, having fun with his Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy Tab S7 FE much more since the arrival of Android 13.

Essentially, Samsung has not only gone supersonic with the speed of rolling out the update, but has also made sure that users have the best and most stable experience possible right from the start. That’s astounding, frankly, and at this point I can only ask: Will Samsung itself be able to match what it achieved this year with future releases of big Android and One updates? Only time will tell.

PS: Not using a Galaxy phone eligible for the Android 13 update? This is an excellent excuse to consult our Christmas gift guide to see if you can find a new Samsung device at a discount!
