Samsung will release 3 phone cases with S Pen pocket for Galaxy Z Fold. You should store the stylus on the outside, at the height of the hinge.
Next month, Samsung will introduce two new foldable smartphones, the, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3, of which only the latter model will support the S Pen. Earlier this year, the Galaxy S21 Ultra Featuring S Pen support, the Z Fold 3 will be the first-ever folding phone compatible with Samsung’s stylus. As with the S-series model, the phone will not have a stylus pen compartment, instead Samsung will release phone cases where the S Pen can be stored.

Today the first images have appeared online of an official Samsung Z Fold 3 case with S Pen compartment. The images are published by 91Mobiles. It appears to be a Leather Flip Cover, which is also for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has been released. With the new variant, the stylus can be stored on the outside of the case, at the height of the hinge. Samsung will probably also release a similar model without a box for the S Pen – the stylus will be offered as an optional accessory.

The leather phone case has a black color, Samsung will probably also release at least one other color – Olive green seems the most likely option. For comparison, the Leather Flip Cover for the Z Fold 2 is available in black and brown. This case has a suggested retail price of €89. Presumably, the new model with S Pen box will be even more expensive, you may be able to buy this variant for about €99.
It is also a new stylus, which will be called the S Pen Fold Edition. Compared to the existing variant, it has a softer tip to prevent the stylus from damaging the flexible screen.
A lot is already known about the specs of the Samsung Z Fold 3. The foldable smartphone will be equipped with a 7.55-inch flexible screen and a 6.23-inch cover display. Both displays support the 120Hz refresh rate.
The new Z Fold will also be Samsung’s first-ever smartphone with an under-display camera. The camera is placed under the flexible screen. It would be a 16 megapixel image sensor. In addition, a 10 megapixel cover selfie camera is integrated. Finally, you will also find three cameras on the back of the phone; a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera.
Samsung’s new foldable phone will also be sturdier and more durable than before. Think of a Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) 2.0. In addition, the device will also be made water resistant for the first time, the Z Fold 3 will reportedly receive an IPX8 rating – which means that the device is completely waterproof, but has not been tested for dust resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be powered by the extremely powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. It will have 12GB of RAM built-in and a choice of 256GB / 512GB storage memory. A microSD memory card will not be supported.
Finally, the new foldable from Samsung will be equipped with a double battery, which together accounts for a battery capacity of 4,275 mAh (2,215 and 2,060 mAh). As for the colors, the new Z Fold will be released in at least three colors: black, silver and olive green. Presumably, some exclusive colors will also be offered via Samsung’s website.
On Wednesday 11 August there will be a Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, at which time both the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be presented. At the same time, the Galaxy Watch 4, of Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and the Galaxy Buds 2 expected. The event will be live streamed and will start at 4:00 PM Dutch time.
