One of the weak points of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 is its battery capacity. Photos of what appears to be the next battery for its successor, the Galaxy Z Flip4 have been recovered showing a boost in capacity. Here are all the details.
It is recognized that the battery of the Galaxy Z Flip3 which has a capacity of 3300 mAh is a little weak compared to the competition and especially that it is necessary to recharge it very regularly having difficulty in holding more than a day. Samsung must correct the shot to seduce an audience that could be put off by an average autonomy. This seems to be confirmed by the rumors concerning the technical characteristics of the Galaxy Z Flip4.
Indeed, several sources converge to affirm that the next clamshell smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer would have a battery with a capacity of 3700 mAh and more exactly distributed over two energy storage units, as on the Galaxy Z Flip3. This would represent a gain of 400 mAh, which is quite significant, especially if the battery is associated with a processor that remains efficient enough to be economical.
Two battery units that gain capacity
The Sammobile site has managed to get its hands on photos that appear to be of the two battery units that would be integrated into the Galaxy Z Flip4. One of the cells has a nominal capacity of 2555 mAh and the second 1040 mAh for a total of 3595 mAh which would be advertised as a typical capacity of 3700 mAh. If it is indeed the two battery units of the Galaxy Z Flip4 it means that it should indeed offer greater autonomy than its predecessor. It is particularly expected with a processeur Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which is intended to be relatively economical. 8 GB of RAM is expected and a storage capacity of 512 GB, twice as much as the current Galaxy Z Flip3 could be an option.
Besides, the fact of greater capacity, rumors say that the device could support a 25 watt charging power versus 15 watt currently, which is really not much, especially if we look at the competition which offers, for mid-range models, much higher power and therefore a much shorter charging time. Samsung refuses, for the moment, to race who will be the fastest to charge, claiming that overheating is inevitable and that the components age prematurely.
Other rumors about the Galaxy Z Flip4
Other rumors are circulating about the Galaxy Z Flip4 including the fact that its fold would be less visible than that of the Galaxy Z Flip3 despite the use of a hinge that would be smaller. The device would benefit from a larger external screen from 1.9 inches to 2.1 inches.
Son main screen would measure 6.7 inches and would benefit from a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It would have the same configuration of photo sensors as the Galaxy Z Flip3 and would have an aluminum frame.
The official presentation of the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 is expected in early August at a Samsung Unpacked event.
