Folding smartphones Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold5, presented on Wednesday at the annual Samsung Unpacked conference, have already appeared on sale in Russia, informs TASS. This is two weeks before the start of global sales, scheduled for August 11th. Recall that in February 2023, sales of Samsung S23 smartphones in Russia began 11 days earlier than global ones.

New items can be purchased on the MTS website. The cost of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphone starts from 110 thousand rubles, the Fold5 models – from 190 thousand rubles. You can also pre-order new devices from Samsung on the websites of M.Video, MegaFon, Eldorado or on the website of the Samsung store 1galaxy.ru.
The Galaxy Z Fold5 has received minor upgrades over its predecessor, including a thinner fold and better performance than the previous model. And the Galaxy Z Flip 5 received a larger external screen compared to its predecessor, a new hinge mechanism and more powerful stuffing. Both models are IPX8 waterproof, but not dustproof. Tae Moon Roh (TM Roh), president and head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics, said the development team is working on this issue and the South Korean manufacturer’s foldable devices will have this feature in the future.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 starts at $1,799 globally, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at $999.
