If your private smartphone is a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 +, I have bad news for you. Samsung has officially ended support for these ex-flagships. Interestingly, you can still buy Galaxy S8 in one of the Polish, proven stores.
All good things come to an end – time flies inexorably. In the case of updates in the Android world, support usually ends too quickly.
Fortunately, there are producers who give a little more in this matter than others. One of them is Samsung, which is one of the update leaders in terms of releasing new security patches. This applies to the number of models as well as the length of the support and the frequency of releasing patches.
Even so, even flagship Galaxy phones won’t be supported forever. It just so happens that the ex-flagships from 2017 made their update life.

On the Samsung support website, the list of smartphones and tablets that can count on regular security updates has been updated. Unfortunately, this time Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 + were completely removed from it.
It means that Samsung’s four-year-old flagships will no longer receive patches either monthly or quarterly. It is possible for an occasional update to come out, but only when the manufacturer discovers a critical security flaw.
Throw away or buy?
In any case, the end of support for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 is the symbolic end of their story – their owners finally got some reasonable reason to exchange them for a newer model. If there is no update, this is an important argument for someone … ????
Or maybe it will work the other way around and you want to … buy a Galaxy S8 in 2021? It so happens that at the price of PLN 1899 it is available on the Polish Amazon (directly, you have to select from the list of sellers) – after all, it’s a proven store (I will not mention the other offers in Poland).
I do not recommend such a purchase for obvious reasons. Even for, say, collector’s / sentimental purposes, paying almost two thousand zlotys for a 4-year-old phone does not make much sense.
