Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – One of the improvements to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the body material which is made of titanium. This trend was first carried out by the iPhone 15 Pro which was launched in September 2023.
Titanium material is claimed to be stronger than aluminum, which has been the mainstay of premium cellphones. Apart from that, titanium is also said to be lighter.
Apart from using a titanium body, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is also given additional protection, namely Gorilla Glass Armor on the back. So, to see what its toughness is like, YouTuber PBKreviews conducted a physical test.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra was slammed from human waist height. The first time, it appeared that the cellphone screen had a slight crack in the top right corner.
Then, the most premium cellphone from the Galaxy S24 family was tested again. This time, the top left corner of the phone also had a slight scratch. Next, the titanium frame suffered scratches in several parts.
However, even though it was slammed several times, the Galaxy S24 Ultra did not suffer significant damage. The internal functions of the smartphone are also still running normally.
PBKreviews concluded that the titanium frame on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is indeed tougher. However, the YouTuber said that the glass protection on the front could have been improved.
However, the Gorilla Glass Armor used by the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is claimed to be 3x more durable than its competitors.
Apart from that, scratch resistance is also said to be 4x better than competitors on the market.
What should be appreciated is the durability of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra screen. After being slammed several times, there was no significant damage. Apart from that, the screen also remains smooth even if it gets scratched by sand.
In comparison, the titanium material on the iPhone 15 Pro showed scratches and the screen cracked after being dropped from waist height by YouTuber EverythingApplePro.
