Samsung Electronics and Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) announced that the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone uses Corning® Gorilla® Armor coating material.
“Corning’s Gorilla® Glass, together with the Galaxy S series, has succeeded in driving innovation and making significant progress towards stronger smartphone durability,” said Kwangjin Bae, EVP and Head of the Mechanical R&D Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics.
It is known that Corning® Gorilla® Armor is a different type of smartphone glass protector.

Compared to a regular screen surface, Gorilla Armor reduces reflections by up to 75 percent, improves display clarity and minimizes screen reflections in all environmental conditions.
This latest coating material from Corning optimizes the toughness of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
From lab tests conducted by Corning, Gorilla Armor shows superior durability compared to aluminosilicate protective glass.
To measure scratch resistance, Corning conducted a new laboratory test called – “Scratch Bot”.
Replicates micro-scratches that occur during everyday use. In these rigorous lab tests, Gorilla Armor showed no scratches.
At the same time, it exhibits scratch resistance that is four times stronger than aluminosilicate coverings.
Gorilla Armor contains an average of 25 percent pre-consumer recycled materials that have been validated by UL Solutions according to the UL2809-2 Environmental Claim Validation Procedure (ECVP) for recycled materials.
