Samsung Galaxy S24 Series: Leaked Prices, Specifications, and Launch Date

KOMPAS.com – Samsung is thought to be preparing a new flagship from the Galaxy S series, possibly called the Galaxy S24 series. Although it has not been confirmed, leaked prices for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series have been circulating on the internet.

According to a report by Korean media outlet Hankyung, the price of the Samsung S24 series will be the same as its predecessor, the Samsung S23 series. With this assumption, it can be interpreted that there is no price increase between the Samsung S24 and Samsung S23.

This pricing strategy was implemented reportedly because the Samsung S24 series sales target was 33 million units, or the equivalent of 10 percent higher than its predecessor.

Referring to the price of the Samsung S23 series, the prices for the Samsung S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra are as follows.

• Price of Samsung Galaxy S24 – 999 US dollars (around Rp. 15.4 million)
• Price of Samsung Galaxy S24 – 1,199 US dollars (around Rp. 18.5 million)

It should be noted that the prices are assumed to be for the most basic variants of each model. The other variants may be priced higher.

It’s not just about price, leaked specifications for the Samsung S24 series are also circulating on the internet. One of the features that is thought to be present on this cellphone is the satellite connectivity feature like the iPhone 15 series.

The Samsung S24 Plus is said to have a 6.7 screen with WQHD+ resolution and a brightness level of up to 2,500 nits.

Then, this cellphone will be supported by a 4,900 mAh battery with support for 45 watt fast charging.

As the highest variant, the Samsung S24 Ultra reportedly has a 6.8 inch screen with WQHD+ resolution and a brightness level of up to 2,500 nits. The battery is said to be 5,000 mAh with 45 watt fast charging.

The Samsung S24 Ultra is rumored to have up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 2 TB of storage, a 200 MP main camera, and runs Android 14.

Rumors also say that the Galaxy S24 series will be powered by Qualcomm’s newest flagship system-on-chip (SoC) which has not yet been released, supposedly called Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy.

Samsung is also likely to present the Galaxy S24 series with the Exynos 2400 chipset variant in a number of markets, as compiled by KompasTekno from SmartPrix.

Even though it hasn’t been introduced yet, signs of the presence of the Samsung S24 in Indonesia have already appeared. A strong signal of the presence of the Samsung S24 series in Indonesia comes from the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) certification site of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin).

Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 series, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will allegedly come in three models, including the “regular” Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

According to a number of leaks circulating in cyberspace, each of these models has model numbers SM-S921B, SM-S926B, and SM-S928B for the global version of the Galaxy S24 series.

So, the three model numbers have now appeared on the Ministry of Industry’s TKDN page. According to the information on the page, these three Samsung S24 models have a TKDN value of 35.40 percent.

The Ministry of Industry’s TKDN page also shows that smartphones with the codes SM-S921B, SM-S926B, and SM-S928B are supported by 5G network support.

Unfortunately there is no other information, especially regarding the specifications of the Samsung S24 series mentioned on that page. However, the appearance of the Samsung S24 model number on the TKDN page is an indication that this smartphone will be launched in Indonesia, although the time is not yet known.

Samsung has not yet announced the official launch schedule for the Samsung S24 series both globally and in Indonesia. According to rumors circulating, this Samsung flagship cellphone will be launched in early 2024 at the Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Samsung S24 series launch event will reportedly be held in the United States. This is different from the Samsung Galaxy S23 series which was released in South Korea.

The information comes from South Korean media, The Elec, who spoke with an anonymous source from Samsung Electronics. It was also stated that pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 would start the day after launch due to the time zone difference with the US.

As a comparison, Samsung released the Galaxy S23 series which was launched on February 1 2023 and went on sale on February 17 2023.
