Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Users Experience Disabled High Bitrate Videos in 8K Recording Mode: What Does it Mean?

After the launch of the flagships of 2023, users have received, along with the top-end smartphone Galaxy S23 Ultra, the ability to shoot 8K video at a high bitrate. However, the company recently disabled this feature without any warning or explanation.

What does it mean

According to several forum posts, the High Bitrate Videos option is disabled in 8K video recording mode. More precisely, in the settings section of the Camera application, this option is still there, but it cannot be activated. This happened after installing the June 2023 security update.

According to some users, sometimes 8K 30fps video could “stutter” when using a high bitrate. Perhaps due to unstable operation, Samsung disabled this feature.

However, it is important that these changes are not reflected in the log. Samsung also doesn’t say why it disabled the feature and if it plans to bring it back with a future software update.
