Most of the rumors we’ve read so far point to a launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series in February 2022. Before that highly anticipated release date, the revelations are expected to follow in the next two months.
This weekend, two versions of the Galaxy S22 Ultra appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, reports MySmartPrice. These include variants that work with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 – the chipset that is expected to equip the Samsung smartphone in most of the regions where it will launch.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra have respectable single-core and multi-core scores on Geekbench 4 and Geekbench 5, but there’s definitely a lot of software and hardware optimization to be expected. We have already seen leaked benchmarks for the version of the Galaxy S22 Plus with the Exynos processor.
Ultra vs Note
The second capital information on the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes from the famous leaker @FrontTron, which claims that the phone will not be called S22 Ultra at all, but rather Samsung Galaxy S22 Note.
If you’ve been following the rumors around this premium smartphone for some time, you’ll remember we heard something similar just a few months ago. It is therefore more and more likely that the S22 Ultra adopts the Note name and more or less borrows the design of the flagship equipped with a stylus.
We haven’t had a Galaxy Note 21 this year, and it does look like the Note 22 and S22 Ultra will be one and the same phone. We’ll be sure when the devices are officially unveiled by Samsung in a few months.
