Several months after the time we first expected it to launch, we still do not know the release date for Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, but now a new leak indicates that it may come in January – and that Samsung Galaxy S22 may have been delayed instead.
We have heard a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, including several reports that work with the mobile may have shut down, so now to hear that it may come in January comes as something of a surprise. A new leak from SamMobile claims that it will be a small launch, perhaps even only in the form of a press release via e-mail instead of an entire event.
The SamMobile report also claims that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 may have been delayed – but how long is unclear. New flagships in the S-Series are usually presented in January (Samsung Galaxy S21 launched January 14, 2021), just after CES earlier this month.
Samsung S21 FE may be announced during that time frame instead, or even introduced on CES 2022, while the company waits a few weeks to a month before launching the Samsung S22. But the latter is speculation beyond what we have heard from this leak, which only stated the possible launch window for the S21 FE in January and the delay of the S22.
Will Samsung Galaxy S21 FE show up after all?
It has been a very shaky road for Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. Given that its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, released in September 2020, we expected the S21 FE to follow up a year later – but when we went into October, we started thinking about whether we would see the phone at all.
Although we have enough evidence that the S21 FE actually exists and should be close to a launch – Samsung confirmed themselves mobile on one of its official websites and rumors of it circulating everywhere. An August report suggested it could appear soon, while another claimed it would be here in end of October.
The “affordable flagship” niche is something Samsung has been investing in for several years, first with its Samsung Galaxy S10e during 2019 as well Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite in 2020. Finally, it seemed that the company decided to run on “Fan Edition” with its Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, which has been a hit. We expect the S21 FE to be popular as well, but we’ll have to wait for it to actually launch before we can say anything with certainty.
