One of the newest features of the device Samsung The Galaxy S series is a 45W fast battery charging upgrade. 45W charging is admittedly the same as 25W.
This report about the charging duration that is not different is the first to be reported GSM Arena. It tested the phone with three chargers, 25W, 45W and used a 65W third-party adapter.
For information, the Galaxy S21 is only equipped with 25W charging. With the 45W charging update it should be able to charge twice as fast.
A full charge of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with a 25W charger for example takes 64 minutes, and with a 45W charger it takes 59 minutes. So there is only a difference of 5 minutes.
While using a 65W charger with a non-Samsung adapter, it took 62 minutes.
Charging the Samsung Galaxy S22 battery in a partial test states that for 30 minutes it can only charge 61 percent of an empty battery, with 25W charging.
While the 45W charger had worse performance, 30 minutes only did 60 percent, and the 65W charger only did 65 percent.
So, in general it seems that using 45W fast charging will charge the phone faster, but only by a few minutes. That’s a far cry from many rival phones with 80W charging on the OnePlus 10 Pro, and 120W on the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
Quoted Tech Radar, it is not yet clear why Samsung’s 45W charging works so poorly. Or, there is an error in the Galaxy S22 software.
Given that the company does not provide a charging adapter on the Galaxy S22, users should choose to use 25W charging because the charging duration is not much different.
This phone was released globally in early February 2022. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S22 will enter the Indonesian market in March.
