Jakarta (ANTARA) – There are several ways to unlock cellphones, from PINs, pattern passwords, fingerprint scanners, face scans, to the latest that Galaxy S21 owners will be able to unlock their phones by voice via Bixby Voice.
Samsung actually offered this feature for several phones with Bixby in the past, but the feature was later removed. Now, as reported on the Gizmochina page, Sunday, the Galaxy S21 will bring this feature back to life when it is released next year.
This feature will reportedly be added to One UI 3.1 which will debut in the Galaxy S21 series. Previous versions allowed users to unlock their devices saying “Hi Bixby,” so it’s possible that when the feature returns next year, users will be able to unlock their phones the same way.
Meanwhile, on the official Samsung support page when the feature was still supported it said that “it is perfectly safe to unlock your phone with the voice command Hi Bixby.”
However, this feature is still doubtful considering that more sophisticated biometric features, such as face and fingerprint scanners, can still be fooled.
Even so, the option to be able to unlock the phone by voice can be useful in situations where the user cannot operate the phone by hand or cannot unlock by face.
