Samsung swept out warehouses of old components
He found unused parts for Galaxy S21 FE and Snapdragon 888 chipsets
Their combination will create a new edition of the two-year-old model
After a generational break, Samsung wants to resume the tradition of releasing fan editions of its flagship smartphones. Everything points to the fact that we will see the Galaxy S23 FE model this fall, but it clearly does not end there – according to leaked materials, the Koreans are also going to revive the almost two-year-old Galaxy S21 FE.
The Galaxy S21 FE will receive a new edition
Samsung started with fan editions in 2020, when it introduced the highly successful Galaxy S20 FE. However, its successor was very difficult to come to the world – it was planned for the end of the summer of 2021, but Samsung postponed its arrival for a long time, until it finally introduced it at the beginning of 2022. This happened just before the premiere of the Galaxy S22 series, which probably caused interest in this model greatly dampened. What’s even more surprising is finding out that the Koreans are going to send this model out into the world soon.
The Koreans probably had a lot of unused components from this model left in their warehouses, which is why they decided to reincarnate it. However, this year’s model will not be exactly the same as the original – as internal training materials for dealer education show, there will be at least three changes for the 2023 edition:
replacing the original Exynos 2100 chipset with a Snapdragon 888 increasing the basic storage capacity from 128 to 256 GB adding a blue color variant instead of white
The first novelty is particularly surprising, as the Snapdragon 888 powered the Galaxy S20 FE, a generation older, in an improved variant with support for 5G networks. Samsung probably cleared out the stock and thought it might still find some use for this late 2020 chipset.
In other equipment, at least on paper, nothing would change – the phone should retain a 6.4″ Dynamic AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 4500mAh battery and the same three main cameras with a resolution of 12 + 12 + 8 megapixels.

Unfortunately, the materials do not mention one crucial item, which is software support. The original Galaxy S21 FE went into the world with Android 12 and will probably only get Android 15, but whether this will be the case with its reincarnation this year with an older processor, we do not know at the moment. The question is, however, whether this phone will even reach the Czech Republic – at the moment, only its Indian price (49,999 rupees, about 16,000 crowns including VAT) has leaked to the market, so it is possible that it will be exclusive only to this market.
