Jakarta, Selular.ID – Samsung announced a system of monthly security updates for the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G. However, not for the Galaxy A72. Previously, the South Korean giant moved the flagship Galaxy S9 series to the Quarterly update cycle.
While the recently launched Galaxy A52 and A52 5G devices are eligible for monthly security updates.
Recently the company has rolled out an update for the Galaxy A52 with the firmware version A525FXXU1AUC5 in parts of Europe. This includes the most recent April 2021 security patch and it came before April even started.
That and looking at Samsung’s recently updated security update eligibility page, we found that the Galaxy A52 and A52 5G are on the list of monthly security updates.
This makes the Galaxy A52 devices grab a special place in the monthly security update cycle which only has the Galaxy A50 Enterprise version as the remaining A series phones. However, the recently launched Galaxy A72 devices including the higher priced Galaxy A52 sibling, the Galaxy A72 are on a Quarterly cycle.
Many may be wondering if that is the wrong list but it looks like Samsung recently updated the list especially after updating several devices with the April 2021 security patch.
We can guess many reasons for this including the immense success of its predecessor Galaxy A51 but only Samsung can say the real reason behind this.
Anyway, let’s see if Samsung continues to update the Galaxy A52 on top of other A series devices in the future. If you are a Galaxy A72 user, how would you feel about this change? Let us know in the comments below.
