Samsung introduced its new entry-level Android smartphone, the Galaxy A16 5G. The device offers a reasonable basic equipment: the display is 6.7 inches and has a Full HD resolution. Despite the very low price compared to other Samsung models, the manufacturer installed a 90 Hz AMOLED panel.
There is a triple lens camera system on the back. The main camera is 50 megapixels and has an f/1.8 aperture. In addition to this there is a very wide camera with a 5 megapixel sensor and an aperture of f / 2.2, there is no telephoto lens, the third camera is for macro shots and it is only 2 megapixels. The front lens is 13 megapixels.
Inside the Galaxy A16 5G is Samsung’s Exynos 1330 2023 5nm SoC. The octa-core SoC has four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A54 cores clocked at 2GHz. An Army Mali-G68 MP5 is used as a graphics processor.
The Galaxy A16 5G is available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but both models have a MicroSD card slot. The nominal capacity of the battery is 5000 mAh, which allows up to 18 hours of video playback. The smartphone can be charged up to 25 watts via a cable, but the charger for this is not included in the package.
The Galaxy A16 5G comes with Android 14. The smartphone, as the name suggests, supports 5G as well as Wi-Fi 5, and we also get Bluetooth version 5.3. Depending on the market, the basic 128 GB model will cost 230-250 euros, ie about 90-100 thousand forints, and the 256 will cost about 310 euros (125 thousand HUF).
There are many competitors in this price category, such as Xiaomi or Poco, which offer equipment to a much better level. The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G itself is also better equipped and, in terms of similar storage size in the webshops, the price is also similar.
