Samsung Galaxy A06 debuts in Brazil and India: Budget smartphone with new design

Samsung has launched its new Galaxy A06 smartphone in Brazil and India after launching it in Vietnam last month. This budget smartphone retains most of the features of its predecessor, the Galaxy A05, but gets a few design and feature updates.

What is known

The Galaxy A06 has a similar design to the Galaxy A05, but with a new “Key Island” design. The phone comes with a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. Additionally, Face Unlock and Samsung Knox are available for security.

On the front, there is a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with HD+ and Infinity U resolution. The plastic body of the phone is available in black, gold and light blue.

The Galaxy A06 has an 8MP front camera and a 50MP main camera on the back. There is also a 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash. The phone supports 1080p video recording at 60 frames per second.

The MediaTek Helio G85 processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage provide enough power for everyday use. The Galaxy A06 also has a dedicated microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The smartphone runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 and will receive two major Android OS updates and security patches within two years. The device has GPS, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB 2.0 Type-C port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh and supports 25W fast charging.

In Brazil, the Galaxy A06 costs R$899 for the 128GB version. In India, the smartphone costs INR 9,999 (approximately USD 120) for the 64GB version and INR 11,499 (approximately USD 137) for the 128GB model.
